FAQ’S

  • What is counseling and how do I know if counseling is right for me?

Counseling is the process of meeting with a professional to process through various issues that may lead you to seek services, in order to grow in symptom management, self-awareness and overall personal growth.

There are a variety of reasons why someone would seek counseling services, including but not limited to: experiencing life changes, relationship concerns, loss and/or grief, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or identity concerns. One indication counseling may be right for you is if you notice life becoming harder to manage, or if your view of self, relationships, work, or other areas of your life are becoming increasingly influenced by your negative thoughts and emotions.

  • What can I expect?

Once you come to the decision to pursue counseling at Jones & Luther Counseling and Training Center the next step is to complete the contact form on our website. Once you complete the form a member of our team will reach out to you within 48 hours (during the work week). At which time you will be matched with a counselor on our team who will reach out to you to schedule your first session, as well as email you intake paper work to complete prior to your first session.

Your first session will include reviewing your intake paperwork, reviewing policies and procedures and exploring what brings you to counseling at this time. At your first session your counselor can communicate about additional scheduling, any billing concerns, and answer any specific questions your have for them or about the counseling process in general.

Please feel free to email us at info@jonesandluthercounseling.org with any additional questions you may have.

  • How long are sessions?

Each individual and couple session is 45-50 minutes. Family sessions are 90 minutes in length.

  • How often are sessions?

Weekly sessions are recommended. Typically biweekly and monthly sessions are suggested for clients phasing out of therapy and/or on a symptom management treatment plan.

When weekly sessions are not possible, weekly sessions for at least the first 3 months is highly recommended and can be reassessed at that time.

Some clients with more complex or severe symptoms may benefit from a higher frequency, this can be discussed with your counselor and is handled on a case-by-case basis.

Our goal is to help you make progress in your goals, and a reduced frequency from the start is an unfortunate way to reduce the likelihood of progress and success in counseling. Your counselor will discuss with you if a different frequency is recommended.

  • Do you provide in-person and/or telehealth counseling?

We provide both in-person and virtual counseling sessions. Our virtual counseling is provided through an easily accessible HIPPA compliant platform.

There may be times when in-person counseling may be more appropriate or necessary to meet your counseling needs. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

  • What are your fees?

Jones & Luther Counseling and Training Center offer a range of fee options. You can find each counselor’s fee by reading their bio section. Sliding scale options are available if and when needed, and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Payment is accepted by card, cash or check.

  • Do you accept insurance?

We do not deal directly with insurance. We can provide you with an invoice, which provides the information needed for possible insurance reimbursement that can personally be submitted to your insurance.

  • How can I get started?

When you are ready to take the next step and begin counseling you can complete a contact form and a member of our team will be in touch with you shortly after receiving your inquiry. Please email info@jonesandluthercounseling.org if you have any additional questions or concerns. We’re privileged to be a part of this process with you.
